Countries with Travel Restrictions on People Coming from PH

Due to the ongoing threats of COVID-19, some countries have imposed travel restrictions on people coming from the Philippines and other countries affected by the coronavirus. As of today, March 9, 2020, the Philippines has reported 20 confirmed cases of COVID-19.

SAUDI ARABIA

The Department of Foreign Affairs clarified that only the following are covered by the temporary travel ban:

  • Umrah Visa holders
  • Tourist Visa holders

Filipinos who hold valid employment visas, work/business visit, and family visit are still allowed to enter Saudi Arabia.

UPDATE: As of today, March 12, 2020, Saudi Arabia suspends travel, flights to EU and several other countries including the Philippines. Only health workers will be allowed entry for now.

KUWAIT

  • The temporary travel ban applies to Filipino citizens with valid residency or previous entry visa issued by the Kuwaiti government.
  • Foreigners who visited the Philippines in the past 14 days prior to arrival in Kuwait are also covered.

QATAR

  • The temporary travel ban applies to Filipino citizens with valid Qatar residence or work permits and temporary visitors.
  • Foreigners who visited the Philippines in the past 14 days prior to arrival in Kuwait are also covered.

COOK ISLANDS

  • Travelers from the Philippines and other countries affected by the coronavirus, within the past 14 days will be denied entry to the Cook Islands.

ISRAEL

  • There is a mandatory self-quarantine for all passengers arriving in Israel including Filipino citizens.
  • Israel will only admit foreigners if they can prove they have the means to self-quarantine.

INDIA

  • India has suspended all tourist visas.
  • “All existing visas, except diplomatic, official, UN-international organizations, employment, project visas, stand suspended until 15th April 2020.”
  • This order will take effect from 12:00 GMT on March 13.

EL SALVADOR

  • El Salvador has imposed 21 days of quarantine and prohibits the entry of all foreigners.
  • Only diplomats, Guatemalans with valid passports and Salvadoran residents will be allowed entry and will undergo a mandatory 30 days isolation.
