Cancelled Events in the Philippines Due to the Coronavirus Epidemic

Many big events in the Philippines were cancelled due to the coronavirus disease (COVID-19) epidemic that has affected more than 20 countries around the world. While there are only three confirmed cases in the Philippines, the Department of Health issued an advisory to avoid attending and participating in events that draw a huge number of attendees.

Some local governments have stepped up their measures in fighting the spread of the coronavirus disease and cancelled major events.

Araw ng Davao 2020 [Davao City]

The city government of Davao has issued a statement that it is canceling the lined up events for the 2020 Araw ng Davao. The Araw ng Davao events that have been cancelled are:

  • Pasiugdang Pagsaulog
  • Reyna Dabawenya
  • Ginoong Davao
  • Sayaw Pinoy
  • Kalingawan sa Sta. Ana
  • Hudyaka
  • Mutya ng Dabaw
  • Pasidungog
  • Araw ng Empleyado
  • Kanta Bidabawenyo
  • Parada Dabawenyo
  • Datu Bago Awards

Ironman 70.3 [Davao City]

IronMan officials have decided to postpone the IronMan 70.3 Davao triathlon to May 10, 2020. Athletes who registered for the event will receive an email with further details.

Kalilangan Festival 2020 [General Santos City]

The LGU of General Santos City has decided to cancel ALL events in relation to the Kalilangan Festival 2020.

22nd Araw ng Davao de Oro

Governor Uy of Davao de Oro (formerly Compostela Valley Province) issued a statement about the cancellation of activities and events lined up for the 22nd Araw ng Davao de Oro (Founding Anniversary) on March 7-8, 2020 due to the threats posed by COVID-19.

Kaamulan Festival 2020 [Bukidnon]

Panagbenga Festival 2020 [Baguio]
