Mayoyao Rice Terraces
Recognized as part of the UNESCO World Heritage inscription, Mayoyao is one of the five Rice Terraces of the Philippine Cordilleras. This is not as visited as the other rice terraces because its location is too distant. But, going here is worth all the hassle. The view of the native houses and stonewalled rice terraces is very picturesque. It doesn’t seem to end; its stretch and size seem to look like it is never-ending. Batad Rice Terraces
The trek to the rice terraces is a fun adventure. If in the city all you see are tall buildings and smell the smoke of cars, here you will be in the sight of soaring high trees and smell the sweet scent of different species of flora growing on the path. Out of all the rice terraces, or any tourist spot in the province, Batad may just be the most visited tourist spot in Ifugao. The best view of the rice terraces is in the viewing deck. Take panoramic photos to completely capture its beauty.
How to get to Batad
You can take a van or tricycle from Banaue to Batad which will take about an hour. The van/tricycle will stop close to the village so you only need to walk around 15-20 minutes. There’s also a jeepney going to Batad in the morning. I suggest you stay in Banaue overnight so you can ask your hostel/hotel about the transportation to make sure you will not miss it.
Soaring at a height of 700 meters, Tappiya waterfalls is one of the treasures that lies within the province of Ifugao. Surrounded by abundant tropical forest, the trees that surrounded the pool of the falls provides a very clean and refreshing air. The pool of falls has a cool temperature to it, thus if the trek tired you out then you are going to enjoy taking a dip at the pool. Just enjoy and watch the water cascade as you swim around the pool.

Still remains to be the most famous rice terraces in the world; Banaue Rice Terraces is a national cultural treasure; just like the other rice terraces. Our ancestors were able to make such a magnificent work that soars at 1,500 meters high; all that they did by hand. The great thing about this place is despite how many years old it already it is, it remains to be breathtaking and majestic. It is a perfect mixture of something manmade but has molded into the mountains over time that it looks natural.
