Ministry of Crabs is one of the most talked about restaurants in Colombo, Sri Lanka. It’s an exclusive fine dining restaurant located in the the 400-year old Dutch hospital building in the capital city. It was founded by Chef Dharshan Munidasa along with well-known Sri Lankan cricketers Kumar Sangakkara and Mahela Jayawardee.
As the name suggests, the Ministry of Crabs offers a variety of seafood dishes to its diners. It’s a perfect spot for seafood lovers especially crustaceans. They cook the crabs in different spices, so you can have it cooked according to your preference. I asked what is their best-seller and the server said, it’s their garlic chilli crabs. It was indeed, good! The crabs is best paired with their iced tea soda. The food is quite pricey but it’s all worth it. Prepare at least Php3,000 (USD60) to have a decent meal in this restaurant. A little expensive to some but definitely worth your money – a must-try restaurant in Colombo indeed.
