HOW TO GET TO CAMIGUIN?
Going to Camiguin is relatively easy. The most convenient way to go to Camiguin is via Cebu as there is a direct daily flights from Mactan International Airport to Camiguin via Cebu Pacific. The flight schedule is early in the morning so you will not be wasting time and can start exploring the island late in the morning. Starting December, Philippine Airlines will also commence a daily flight from Cebu to Camiguin. Travel time is less than 30 minutes.
The most common way of getting to Camiguin is via Cagayan de Oro City. From CdO, travelers can take a Surigao-bound bus from CdO’s Agora Bus Terminal. Travel time from Agora Bus Terminal to Balingoan Port is around 2.5 to 3 hours.
From Balingoan Port, you will need to take a ferry to Camiguin’s Benoni port. Travel time is only an hour. (Read : Balingoan Port to Benoni Port and VV Ferry Schedule)
Alternatively, you can also take a boat from Jagna, Bohol to Camiguin. The boat schedule is Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. Fare is P425 and travel time is around 3-4 hours.
Getting around Camiguin is easy, too. There are jeepneys, tricycles and vans that can take you around the province.
When is the best time to Visit Camiguin?
Camiguin is an all-year round destination but the best time to visit is around October to witness the Lanzones Festival and during Holy Week for the Panaad Festival.
