Lunch at Kau Kee Noodles, supposedly some of the best beef brisket noodles in Hong Kong. After standing in line outdoors for almost an hour in the blazing heat, we were rustled into the small shop like cattle to slaughter. I wish someone had saved me like Okja. The auntie in the front started screaming at us because we didn’t sit down fast enough. So we quickly found our seats at a small table with four other poor souls and ordered from the soup stained menu. The brisket was tender and favorful but the broth was unremarkable. The noodles, however, were so overcooked and mushy that I had to abandon my chopsticks and eat the baby food remnants with a spoon. Maybe that’s how they are supposed to be…I don’t know. What I do know is that I will never go back to this sheep-herding tourist trap again. Such a huge letdown, especially considering all of the amazing food I’ve had in Hong Kong. . . . #brisketnoodles #hongkong #hkfood #hkeats #kaukeebeefbrisketnoodles
