Ko Pha Ngan is Thailand’s fifth biggest island located about 70km from the mainland and just about 12km from the island of Koh Samui. It is known for its monthly Full Moon Party attracting thousands of local and international tourists. Most festivities happen on Sunrise Beach, whose beach bungalows attract a lot of backpackers.
Koh Phangan does not have an airport so it relies mainly on ferries from the mainland Thailand and Koh Samui.
