Tinuy-an Falls
The #TravelMindanao team visited Tinuy-an falls after exploring Hinatuan’s Enchanted River. We left Hinatuan past 12 noon and had to take our lunch along the road somewhere in Bislig. It was already raining while we were still on the road but it was intermittent so we were still hoping that the sun would show up that day. The rain has subsided when we arrived in Tinuy-an Falls. We paid the entrance fee (P50) and immediately took photos of the waterfall. We were able to take some photos until the rain became heavier. It was difficult for us to move from one point to another point so we stayed in a cottage for a while. We let the rain passed and when it stopped we decided to keep moving and proceeded back to Mangagoy to catch a van to Davao City. It was a short visit but we had fun.
Escape Manila at Tinuy-an Falls
Tips: You must not confuse Mangagoy and Bislig, they actually refer to the same place. Mangagoy is the commercial center of the city. You can pretty much visit both Tinuy-an falls and Enchanted River on the same day just start your tour early. If you are at least a group of 5 or more, it will be bettr to rent a van. We got ours for P3500 for exploring both attractions.
How to Get There?
The nearest commercial airport from Bislig/Mangagoy is in Butuan City. So, if you are coming from Manila book a flight to Butuan City. You may also book a ticket to Surigao City and Davao City but the travel time will be longer especially for the former.
From Butuan City
You may take a bus or van from Butuan Integrated bus terminal going to Mangagoy. Travel time is around 5-6 hours depending the bus stops. Buses from Butuan that directly go to Mangagoy are non-airconditioned.
If you want a little comfort, you may take an airconditioned bus from Butuan going to Davao/Tandag and alight at San Francisco (San Franz) bus terminal. Fare is P125/P110 for aircon/non-air and travel time is around 2 hours. Take another bus going to Mangagoy that will pass through Hinatuan. Travel time is around 3 hours.
From Surigao City
Coming from Surigao City is a little bit tricky. There are no direct buses from Surigao to Mangagoy. You can either take a bus to Butuan which is about 2 hours or take a bus to Tandag for about 5 hours. This route is ideal for those people coming from a trip in Sohoton or Bucas Grande. From Tandag, you can take a bus going to San Franz for another 2 hours and alight at Barobo Bus terminal. From there, take another bus to Mangagoy.
From Davao City
Take a van/bus going to Mangagoy from the Ecololand Bus terminal or at the national highway from the airport. Travel time is around 4-5 hours and fare is around P300.
