It was another interesting journey from Ozamis City to Iligan City. It took me around two hours to reach the city of enchanting waterfalls. I immediately checked in at D’ Morvie Suites to take a little nap. It was not a long ride but I was kinda tired so I had to take a little break.
After the short break, I met my friend Lai of Pinay Travelista. I had to borrow her camera because mine was broken. She was kind enough to lend me her camera for the rest of my stay in Iligan. If not for her, I would not have these stunning photos of Iligan.
Ma. Cristina Falls
I was very excited to see the Maria Cristina Falls, it will be a dream-come-true experience for me. To my dismay, the falls was closed for visitors until the day I was supposed to leave the city. Right then and there, I decided to extend my stay in Iligan. I can’t leave without seeing Ma. Cristina Falls up close. Since there was nothing I can do for that day, I headed to Mimbalot Falls.
I had a short visit to Mimbalot Falls in Barangay Buruan, Iligan City. Mimbalot Falls is one of Iligan’s Tourism Triangle along with Maria Cristina Falls and Tinago Falls. It is surrounded by green trees and rocks making it more appealing.
I was mesmerized by its cold and clean water so I wanted to dip into it but I did not bring any extra clothes so I decided to just sat back and listened to the tranquil sounds of nature and relaxing sound of the flowing water. After over an hour of relaxation, I decided to go back to the hostel.
Dinner with Iligan Travel Bloggers
I am very happy to know some of the coolest Iligan Bloggers. I met Lai back in March during the Kaamulan Festival in Bukidnon. We really didn’t have quality time back then but I had another chance to travel with her in Islas de Gigantes along with another Iligan Blogger, Richard or NeoRichCel. They were both awesome to be with so I was really excited to meet them again.
Another Iligan Travel Blogger joined us for dinner who is equally awesome, Jam of Travel Jams. It was a night full of fun and good food. Thank you Lai, Rich, and Jam for the dinner treat at Tita Fannies Restaurant. I am really thankful I met you folks. Until then!
How to get to Mimbalot Falls
Mimbalot Falls is very accessible from the main road. You may take a jeepney from Iligan City going to Banrangay Buru-un. Fare is around P14. Ask the jeepney driver to drop you at the Miguel Canoy Memorial School. Cross the road and walk for around 10 minutes to reach the waterfalls. You may also opt to rent a habal-habal to bring you to the waterfalls but I tell you it’s unnecessary.
