In 2009, I traveled to Cambodia from Bangkok by bus. I was backpacking then was already a bit tire since I already visited 4 countries before reaching Cambodia.
At the border, I met two Brazilian ladies and one Polish dude and we shared the expenses of renting the taxi. it would have been very expensive if I did not meet them.
There was a tropical depression that time so some part of the city were covered with water – it was flooding. Since I was already there, I did not have a choice but to proceed and somehow enjoy the adventure. I decided to stay in the same guest house with the two Brazilian ladies (Vivian and Maira) and we agreed to go on the same trip the next early morning to see the Angkor Wat.
I woke up minutes past five, took a shower and proceed to the lobby to meet my companions. I was surprised that they are already waiting for me… I thought I was early!
We arrived at the Angkor Wat Heritage site just before sunrise. We immediately took some photos and started our almost a day journey at the heritage site.
The architecture and the views are spectacular and stunning. I was amazed to see the place.
After 2 nights in Siem Reap, we headed to Phnom Penh, the capital of Cambodia. Again, I stayed with the 2 ladies to save cost on the sight seeing trips. They were kind enough to accommodate me.
Below are some of the photos I have taken:
